Family & Community

The newest strand in The Sixteen’s education programme is our family and community work. We recently collaborated with innovative theatre and puppetry group Box Tale Soup to produce a new family friendly show for ages 6+, combining Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with highlights from Purcell’s The Fairy Queen.

The show is currently touring venues and festivals across the UK throughout 2016 and 2017, alongside a number of free performances for pupils in state secondary schools.

We have also established an annual choral festival, ‘Sounds Sublime’, which takes place in central London every July. This day-long festival showcases the UK’s most exciting and vibrant young vocal ensembles. Audiences can enjoy a diverse range of free formal and informal performances across stunning central London venues, take part in family events and singing workshops for all ages.

In 2017 we will launch a series of specially themed singing workshops for families. Watch this space for more details!
