“Just wonderful – great atmosphere, fabulous music & inspiring teachers!” Sue, London
Our workshops offer keen choral singers the opportunity to delve deeper into some of the Choral Pilgrimage repertoire. Workshops are led by two prominent members of The Sixteen; associate conductor Eamonn Dougan and singer and practical scholar Sally Dunkley.
Workshops are limited to 75 singers and offer a range of vocal coaching including warm ups, breathing techniques, stylistic advice, tuning and vocal blend. Also offered is an insight into the composer and the historical context of the pieces. Singers should be confident in holding their own line and have some experience of singing in a choir.
In 2017 participants will work on three pieces:
Poulenc Salve Regina
Palestrina Quam pulchri sunt gressus tui
Palestrina Agnus Dei from Missa L’homme armé
The workshop music is sent out a month in advance and participants are encouraged to learn the notes beforehand so finer details can be explored.
