“The Insight Day was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, a skillful and meaningful communication, accessible to both expert and novice alike. Above all, it gave us a rich musical insight into the forthcoming concert.”— Peter, Oxford
Whether you are new to the Choral Pilgrimage repertoire or want to expand your existing knowledge, our Insight Days provide a fascinating exploration into the stories behind the music.
In 2018 we explored the contrasting sacred and secular work of the two 16th-century composers William Cornysh (father and son), and one of the 20th-century’s great masters of vocal music, Benjamin Britten. Talks and debates were led by singer and practical scholar Sally Dunkley and musicologist John Milsom. Musical examples were also presented through an intimate performance by a consort of Sixteen singers.
Details of our 2019 Insight Day will be released shortly.
