A Pilgrim’s Solace: London

21 February 2020 7.30pm Wigmore Hall Tickets: £18 - 60

As Catholics, both Byrd and Dowland lived much of their later lives under threat of arrest. A Pilgrim’s Solace draws from the last publications of their lives, curiously juxtaposing the spiritual and profane, 12 singers explore the songs of yearning, unrequited love and sacred devotion written by two men forced to conceal their faith.
