What is your favourite Sixteen anecdote?
There are so many it is hard to chose just one but it has to be George splitting his trousers during the interval in Blackburn and having to Gaffa tape them up. Then Mark doing the same thing the following week!!!
What do you do to relax in your spare time?
Not very relaxing but look after our little boy. I try and find time to do some sewing as well.
If you could perform in any venue, what / where would it be?
Difficult one. I love singing in Tewkesbury Abbey and Wells cathedral.
Is there a piece you have fallen in love with since performing it with The Sixteen?
Has to be MacMillan’s Miserere. Also, you can’t beat Harry’s Messiah!
What has been the most challenging piece of music you have ever performed?
My first ever concert with the Sixteen – sight reading Britten’s Sacred and Profane!
Do you have a party trick and if so, what is it?!
Not really – apart from singing very high – only dogs can hear it though!
Who were you, or would you be nervous to meet?
I was quite nervous when I met Renee Fleming. There was no need, she was lovely.
What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t a musician?
Possibly a party/wedding planner. I love organising events and making sure everything looks nice!
What would your ultimate desert island disc be?
Renee Fleming singing Strauss’s Four Last Songs.
What would you eat for your last supper?
Would have to be a roast dinner with apple crumble and custard. Traditional!
And the obligatory question…What football team do you support?!
Well, West Ham really but a bit of Arsenal (by marriage!).
