As part of our Quarantine with The Sixteen series Sixteen soprano Alexandra Kidgell, accompanied by pianist Libby Burgess, perform Ca’ the yowes to the knowes , a Scottish folk song with words by Robert Burns. The original text is a pastoral love poem spoken from the point of view of a shepherdess herding her ewes (“yowes”), who has a romantic meeting with a shepherd lad.
