Our Learning and Participation programme offers something for everyone. From choral and family workshops to training programmes for young singers, we aim to provide inspiring and encouraging musical experiences to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

An integral part of our mission is to promote and advance public awareness of the repertoire we perform, whilst also using the power of music to engage, inspire and transform musical education. We continue to focus on reaching those who would not usually have access to choral music, specifically working with underrepresented groups within the industry.

Recognising the need for greater diversity within choral music, we are launching a pilot programme which seeks to diversify the talent pipeline of young singers entering the profession. This programme will be piloted in Leeds with the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Programme, and in London in partnership with the London Youth Choirs. The Sixteen will also share its expertise with amateur adult singers around the UK through a series of Choral Workshops.

In nurturing the next generation of choral practitioners and animateurs, much of our Learning and Participation programme will be supported and delivered by alumni of the Genesis Sixteen Young Artist programme.

Your donations in action

In 2016 we collaborated with Streetwise Opera, a wonderful charity that helps people who have experienced homelessness move on with their lives.
