  • Sounds Sublime Choral Festival

Our work with adults caters for all levels of experience, whether you are at the start of your musical journey or have been singing for your entire life.

Choral Workshops

In 2024, eight Choral Workshops will accompany The Sixteen’s Choral Pilgrimage tour, encouraging local singers of all abilities to engage with and learn more about the Choral Pilgrimage programme, both through historical context and The Sixteen’s more personal history with the repertoire. The chance to sing and learn together is of proven benefit to general well-being and tackles isolation, connecting participants with the music as well as their local community and the wider Sixteen family.

For more information about our workshops and to book a ticket, visit our dedicated Choral Workshops page.

Joyful Tunes & Timeless Memories

These singing workshops are tailored specifically for adults in care homes or those with a dementia diagnosis, and are designed to bring joy, connection, and a sense of well-being through the power of music.

In these workshops, participants will:
• Enjoy familiar songs from various eras, evoking happy memories and emotional connections
• Participate in vocal exercises and breathing techniques promoting relaxation and vocal health
• Engage in group singing activities that foster a sense of community and shared enjoyment
• Experience the cognitive and emotional benefits of music, including improved mood and increased social interaction
• Create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is valued and celebrated
• Enjoy performances from a quartet of professional singers

Voices of Hope

A series of workshops designed to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals who have experienced or are experiencing homelessness, and those who have been displaced. These sessions offer an opportunity for individuals to express themselves, build confidence and resilience, and find joy through the power of music.

In these workshops, participants will:
• Explore simple breathing and vocal exercises that help reduce stress and anxiety
• Sing uplifting songs that foster hope, unity, and a sense of belonging
• Build confidence and self-esteem through individual and group singing
• Experience the joy of music as a tool for emotional expression and mental wellbeing
• Connect with others in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment that encourages collaboration and mutual support
• Enjoy performances from a quartet of professional singers

Singing for Wellbeing

Discover the healing power of your own voice in one of our Singing for Wellbeing workshops, a nurturing and uplifting experience that promotes mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing through the joy of singing. No previous singing experience is necessary—just a willingness to relax and enjoy the moment!

In these workshops, participants will:
• Explore gentle breathing exercises and vocal techniques designed to reduce stress and tension
• Use the voice as a tool for mindfulness and emotional expression
• Sing uplifting, positive songs that foster a sense of community and connection
• Experience the benefits of group singing, which has been shown to improve mood, increase endorphin levels, and reduce anxiety
• Engage in fun, interactive exercises that promote relaxation, build confidence, and encourage self-expression
• Enjoy performances from a quartet of professional singers
