When and where was your first experience of music / singing?
My family have a house in Austria where I have visited every year since I was child. We used to go to my favourite restaurant, and I would join in with the school children from the international school when they would sing and dance traditional Austrian songs for the restaurant and that’s where my love for music started I think. I am a massive Sound of Music fan which definitely stemmed from my holidays out there.
Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?
I went to school in Surrey where I always sang in my school choir and played in my school orchestra along with Singing, Clarinet and Piano lessons, so I started playing and singing Classical music from a young age. I just fell in love with it and haven’t looked back!
What has been your most memorable performance so far?
Singing as a soloist in Carmina Burana with my University Chamber Choir and Orchestra and the Chartres Conservatoire Choir on our tour to Chartres, France in Summer 2022. The venue was the most incredible place to perform in and you could see that the audience were having the best time. Doing my bow was such an amazing feeling and I have never felt so happy in my life singing some of my favourite music amongst all my friends.
What would your dream performance be?
My dream performance would be singing a role in an Opera at the Sydney Opera House.
What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?
I’m looking forward to meeting other likeminded singers who all have the similar aspirations and passion for music that I do. It is going to be so nice to meet people who are at a similar stage in their singing career as me and I hope we can give each other tips and share experience. I am so eager to learn from Harry Christophers and members of The Sixteen who are the best of the best and can share their knowledge with the choir.
Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am really into my fitness and being outside and hiking, running and cycling with my friends and family (and Dog). When I have the time, I love to read as well.
Are you still in education? Are you in any other young artists schemes?
I have just finished my undergraduate degree at The University of Chichester Conservatoire studying Classical Vocal Performance. I am going on to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in September to study a Masters in Vocal Performance.
Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?
This summer I have lots of events happening. The main ones being, I’m taking part on a residential in Newcastle and Durham Cathedrals with the Royal School of Church Music’s Millennium Youth Choir. I also sung as a soloist with the Sleepy Lagoon Orchestra on their tour to Europe in June.
My University Chamber Choir sung evensong in Rochester Cathedral in June and I sung as the Soprano soloist for Arundel Cathedral’s 150th anniversary service in July.
