Jenny joined The Sixteen as their Learning and Participation Manager in 2022. She studied Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths College, University of London and then continued her studies at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has spent the last 10 years working as a singer and workshop leader, manager and producer for participatory music projects.
Alongside her work at The Sixteen, Jenny is an associate artist at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden working across several projects within their learning and participation department including their Youth Opera programmes and Family Sunday programme.
In addition to The Sixteen and RBO Jenny has previously worked as a singer/workshop leader with Glyndebourne Opera, Opera Holland Park, English Touring Opera, Constella OperaBallet, Oxford Opera Company, London Festival Opera, the Arcola Theatre, Depart Spitalfields Music Festival, and the Almeida Theatre, as well as creating bespoke projects for opera companies, schools, nurseries and children’s centres.
Jenny is a passionate believer in access to music for all with a particular intertest in music for 0-5 year olds. She took part in a research project looking at music theatre for toddlers with the European Network of Opera Academies in Munich, she led the team who created ‘Opera Dots’ at the Royal Ballet and Opera, and has recently created several ‘Choral Tots’ workshops as part of her work for The Sixteen.
