Carol began her career in media as a Graduate Trainee at Thames Television and moved on to Richard Branson’s Virgin Radio and what became Chris Evans’s Ginger Media Productions during the 90s. She moved into fundraising from media and marketing in 2000 and has worked on many Capital build projects including the Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum and Amnesty International’s Human Rights Action Centre. Following a brief stint of 12 years as Development Director, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications at the Royal Academy of Music, Carol arrived at The Sixteen in March 2017 to become its Director of Development, as the choir moves towards its 40th anniversary. A career highlight, of which there have been many, was to have worked on the Capital Project to raise funds for Sir Elton John’s new Kuhn organ at the Academy and to have witnessed Sir Elton as he played the first note of Strauss’s sprach Zarathustra on this magnificent instrument. In Carol’s convent school choir, the Choir Mistress and music teacher was Academy trained and from the age of seven to eighteen, her love of choral music was nurtured and developed. Having followed The Sixteen for many years Carol is thrilled to be part of its future.
