When and where was your first experience of music / singing?

My first experience with music was at the age of four, when I was forced by my mum to learn the piano, that went on for another seven years…BUT my first singing experience was performing Fauré’s Requiem with my school’s chapel choir in year, and I have fallen in love with singing ever since.

Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?

I grew up in Sydney, Australia. I remember my dad would put on Chopin études in the car everyday when he drove me to school. I was also fortunate enough to attend a school with a fantastic and loving music department, which has inspired me to move and pursue music half way across the world.

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

My most memorable performance so far has got to be performing Bach cantatas earlier this year with the legendary (Bach God) Masaaki Suzuki, and his analogies of comparing singing to slicing a block of tofu, or building fugues like Legos.

What would your dream performance be?

Not to sound like a Bach nerd, but one of the items high on my bucket list is to perform the whole of Bach’s cantata Ich habe Genung at Wigmore Hall with a band… OR all of the Bach motets in one go with my friends.

What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?

I am super thrilled to meet and make friends with other talented young singers who also share the passion of choral music making , and most importantly to just have fun together in this amazing process.

Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I bake! A lot! I mostly bake lamingtons, which is a delicious treat from Australia. It is a soft vanilla sponge cube, dipped in a layer chocolate sauce, then with another layer of coconut shavings. You should try it!

Are you still in education? Are you in any other young artists schemes?

I am currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I am also on the student scheme of the Philharmonia Chorus and a scholar with the Thames Philharmonic Choir .

Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?

In September I will be starting my fourth year at the Academy which means I will be performing in our Vocal Faculty Scenes, it will be so much fun and I cannot wait! I will also be performing in Lord of the Rings at the Royal Albert Hall and Verdi’s Requiem at Royal Festival Hall.
