Join Genesis Sixteen, The Sixteen’s free young artists’ programme for talented young ensemble singers, as they deliver a service of Choral Evensong as part of their fourth and final residential course of the year-long programme. Conducted by Harry Christophers CBE, Eamonn Dougan, and this year’s conducting scholar Florence Price, the choir will sing an introit, Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by 16th-century composer Orlande de Lassus, complimented by a premiere performance of Preces & Responses by The Sixteen alto and composer, Kim Porter, and a contemporary anthem by Irish composer, Eoghan Desmond.

The service will be recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3, to be played on Wednesday 5 August 2026.

Genesis Sixteen will also perform at St James’s Church, Piccadilly on Saturday 11 July as part of The Sixteen’s wider one-day choral festival, Sounds Sublime. The concert will be at 5.30pm, and more information about the day’s festival activity – ranging from Choral Tots and Family Concerts to Youth Choir Workshops and free courtyard performances – can be found here – Sounds Sublime Festival Schedule.
