When and where was your first experience of music / singing?

I remember dancing to my parents’ ABBA CD when I was around four or five years old. They also played Mozart and Bach when I went to sleep, which I still listen to occasionally!

Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?

I’m from Buckinghamshire, where I live with my parents, brother and sister (both 16). Both my parents were professional musicians; I’m so grateful they took notice of my singing, as it eventually led me to RAM Junior Conservatoire. I also enjoyed being part of my school choirs, where I was lucky enough to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria, including some of the solos.

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

I’ve enjoyed lots of performances recently, but my most memorable is playing Larina in Eugene Onegin opera scenes at Junior RAM last year. I also loved singing Silent Noon in a performance at RAM recently.

What would your dream performance be?

Performing Handel’s Messiah as an alto soloist, without a doubt; there are so many beautiful arias and chorus numbers. I also adore Elgar’s Sea Pictures. Any other Romantic works, like Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, would also be super to sing! There’s so much repertoire to explore, and I can’t wait to dive into it!

What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?

Meeting and working with Harry Christophers and Eamonn Dougan and all the wonderful mentors. I can’t wait to explore some wonderful music with my new colleagues!

Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I like keeping active, through running and walks, especially with family. Exercise helps keep me more engaged and balanced at conservatoire! I also love reading, and good food (stir fry is my weakness!) I like to cook and bake with my siblings sometimes too.

Are you still in education? 

I’m about to start my second year of undergraduate vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music [in Sept 2025], where I’m enjoying studying with Catherine Wyn-Rogers.

I have a twelve-year-old cat called Bella and am half Kiwi.
