When and where was your first experience of music / singing?
My first memories of music are singing the assembly hymns when I was in reception. I used to find that singing used to calm me down when I was worried and soon became my favourite part of the day.
Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?
I grew up in Somerset with incredibly supportive parents, my dad in particular has always been a huge classical music fan. My older brother and I started both vocal and instrumental lessons very young and instantly became very interested. I also loved growing up as a member of the National Children’s Orchestra on clarinet and continuing as a joint first study with voice at Wells Cathedral School.
What has been your most memorable performance so far?
A few of my absolute favourite performances would be the Mozart Reqiuem on tour with BBC National Chorus of Wales to Rennes, my international choir competitions with Choralia from Wells, performing Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony and Adams’s Harmonium at the 2022/23 BBC Proms. Most recently however would be Handel’s Dixit Dominus at RWCMD with the previous Genesis 16 Cohort. I absolutely loved being a part of such a friendly community who made an incredible sound.
What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?
Meeting like minded individuals, creating new friendships and receiving wisdom from Harry and Eamonn to take my singing and musicianship to the next level!
Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Shopping, eating out at my favourite restaurants, drinking hot chocolate or destroying my friends at table tennis!
Are you still in education? Are you in any other young artists schemes?
I’m graduating from RWCMD In July 2025 and also looking forward to becoming a choral scholar at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church this September [2025].
Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?
The week before our first course in August [2025] I am performing opera scenes from Don Giovanni and Marriage of Figaro in Veneto Italy as Zerlina and Susanna respectively as part of the Musicalink course in conjunction with the Da Ponte Opera Festival.
Any fun facts about you?!
