When and where was your first experience of music / singing?
I don’t remember a time when I didn’t sing. My family has a very strong car singing culture, and my Mum and I would sing our hearts out, mainly to ABBA, on the way to and from school. It was my favourite part of every day. Then, in primary school, I was so lucky to have had the most inspirational and passionate music teacher. She let me join the senior school choir and I got to do solos in every concert. It became the most important thing in my life
What has been your most memorable performance so far?
I did an opera course in France in the summer and I got to perform in a chateau! It felt like a scene from Beauty and the Beast.
What would your dream performance be?
I’ve always dreamed of singing at the MET in New York, but I also want to be a disney princess.
What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?
I am looking forward to getting all the choral wisdom from Harry and Eamonn and pushing myself to sing at a high level.
Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I have a lot of hobbies. In recent years I’ve developed an obsession with long-distance walking. So far I have completed the Tour de Mont Blanc, the Cotswolds Way, the Inn’s Way, the Coast to Coast, the West Highland’s Way, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, my sister’s wild route through the Slovenian Alps and the Welsh 3000s. Apart from one call to mountain rescue, I’ve had a great time! I also love running, climbing, dancing, swimming, tennis, cooking, baking, playing the clarinet and saxophone, and sewing.
Are you still in education?
I am currently doing an Msc in Psychology at the University of Nottingham.
