When and where was your first experience of music/singing?

My first musical experience was at six years old when I decided I wanted to learn the violin after seeing someone perform in a school assembly.

Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?

I grew up in Rochester, where I sang in the cathedral choir as a chorister while learning clarinet and violin. I continued singing throughout secondary school and sixth form and as a choral scholar during year 13.

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

Probably performing the Rochester Mass with James Taylor and my cathedral choir at Ronnie Scotts, even though the main thing I remember about the performance was feeling really cramped!

What would your dream performance be?

I think my dream performance would be to perform the Dichterliebe in a small chapel or to sing When David Heard by Tomkins in a quartet.

What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?

I’m looking forward to meeting and singing with some of the most talented singers in the country.

Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to play football, I play weekly and it keeps me occupied with things to do in university. I also enjoy watching the NBA even though the games can be very late at night!

Are you still in education? 

I am finishing my second year at the University of Leeds where I study Computer Science.

Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?

I am part of Leodis Consort, a choir in Leeds, and will be performing in concerts with them in the coming year
