A trailer for the world premiere of The Passion, a landmark site-specific production for Easter 2016 by The Sixteen and award-winning charity Streetwise Opera, in association with Manchester’s international centre for contemporary visual art, theatre and film, HOME.
This extraordinary new opera comprises Bach’s iconic oratorio St Matthew Passion and a new ‘resurrection’ finale which has been jointly written by Streetwise Opera’s performers and celebrated composer Sir James MacMillan. Directed by Penny Woolcock, audience members will be guided around the imposing Victorian iron and glass surrounds of Manchester’s Campfield Market.
