When and where was your first experience of music / singing?

When I was very young my parents got me and my sister to sing four part madrigals with them when we went for walks in the woods. I was 13 and this was during the lockdown so I was grateful for the experience!

Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?

I grew up in Monmouthshire, Wales before moving to Herefordshire when I was 10. I learned violin from the age of six so classical music has always been a big part of my life!

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

Definitely when I performed in the opera L’enfant et les Sortileges as the role of Le fauteuil with Chetham’s School of Music. It was a wonderful experience.

What would your dream performance be?

To play Scarpia in Tosca by Puccini! I would also love to perform as the bass soloist in Haydn’s Creation, and Verdi’s Requiem.

What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?

I’m looking forward to receiving expert coaching and meeting other young singers, as well as singing some absolutely wonderful music.

Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I watch a lot of films in the cinema, specifically horror films. I also like working out and going to the gym.

Are you still in education?

I’m currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tutorage of John Evans, who has transformed my singing!

Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?

I will be singing as a soloist with the Hereford G&S Society in their summer concert. I previously played the role of Dr Daly in The Sorcerer with the Society and love coming back to sing with them!

Any fun facts about you that you’d like to share?

I have a miniature Schnauzer called Bessie!
