When and where was your first experience of music / singing?
Through county junior orchestras. I first experienced singing through school Eisteddfod choirs in secondary school.
Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?
Blackwood, in South Wales. I had access to classical music through my schools, external county youth music groups, and my parents.
What has been your most memorable performance so far?
The final concert of National Youth Choir of Wales’s 2022 summer tour, at Llandaff Cathedral. While perhaps not the biggest or most challenging concert I’ve ever done, it was certainly the most emotionally fulfilling.
What would your dream performance be?
Mendelssohn’s Elijah, as the title role!
What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?
Meeting new people, and exploring our shared love for music.
Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Exercise, read, cook, catch up with friends.
Are you still in education?
I am currently studying a Masters in Vocal Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?
Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for RWCMD in June/July (playing Robin Starveling), and The Very Last Green Thing for WNO Youth Opera in May (playing the Android).
