Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?

I grew up in Ely and was very fortunate to become a chorister at Ely Cathedral when I was 13. This was my first experience of choral music, which I soon came to love. I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to become a chorister, as it really taught me so many valuable skills, both musically and more generally.

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

Getting to perform at the Royal Albert Hall last year was a really special experience for me. I’d been to the venue before many times to see lots of wonderful concerts, and it was an amazing experience to actually perform there!

What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?

I am really excited to develop my skills as a singer, and to be making music with other highly talented and dedicated musicians! Having been in the corporate world since graduating, I am really looking forward to having these courses throughout the year where I can dedicate my focus solely to choral singing!

Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Besides singing, I am really interested in film and enjoy going to the cinema and will happily watch any genre of films. I also love reading, although I don’t get as much time to read as I’d like!

Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?

I am going to be performing the Bach B Minor Mass in October with the Cambridge University Schola Cantorum, which I am really looking forward to!
