2. Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?
I grew up in Bath and I’ve been fortunate to have had a dual musical training in Bath Abbey Girls’ Choir
and at the state school I attended, which had a brilliant music department that I was sad to leave this
summer! I’ve also just finished my music A-level, so I’m excited to be able to stay immersed in classical
music this year, singing with Genesis Sixteen!
3. What has been your most memorable performance so far?
Two years ago I was very lucky to sing the role of Pamina in a performance and CD of the Magic Flute.
The original singer for Pamina in Mozart’s time was 17-years-old, and I sang the role in this new
authentic production at a similar age. The chance to sing this in concert and record with an international
cast of incredible opera singers and the Norwegian orchestra, Orkester Nord, was an experience I
treasure and will always be grateful for.
4. What would your dream performance be?
5. What are you looking forward to with Genesis Sixteen?
I am really looking forward to growing in my singing over the next year under the expertise of the
amazing musicians in the Sixteen. I can’t wait to meet and make music with other young people who are
as passionate about singing as I am!
6. Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
To be honest, while I’ve been at school, singing and playing flute and piano have taken up most of my
spare time - and of course I’ve loved that! However, I enjoy cooking, swimming and all things arts and
crafts, so I’m excited that in my gap year I’ll potentially have some more time alongside work and music
to spend on those hobbies.7. Are you still in education? Are you in any other young artists schemes?
I have just finished my A-levels in music, maths and history, and now I am beginning a gap year. I will
apply to university this autumn to study music in 2026.
8. Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?
I will be singing a leaving recital at Bath Abbey in September including lots of my favourite duets with
one of my friends, such as the Flower Duet. I am also really excited to sing in Bath Young Musician in
October.
