When and where was your first experience of music / singing?
It was with my local church choir, St Mary’s in Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
Where did you grow up? Did you have access to classical music?
I grew up in Derbyshire, in a small village, and went to school in Ashbourne. My school had a fabulous music department and really inspiring teachers who went out of their way to provide musical opportunities like school shows, concerts and ABRSM exams.
What would your dream performance be?
I have always wanted to do the soprano solos in the St John Passion or Tippet’s A Child of Our Time.
Outside of singing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a big reader- specifically of fantasy books.
Are you still in education? Are you in any other young artists schemes?
I’m just finishing my undergrad at royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I am also currently an enhanced scholar with Ex Cathedra and sponsored by the Josephine Baker Trust.
Outside of performances with Genesis Sixteen, have you got any concerts coming up?
I am looking forward to playing Little Red Riding Hood in RBC’s production of Sondheim’s Into the Woods.
