Get to know The Sixteen's soprano and undercover online shopper, Julie
What & where was your debut gig with The Sixteen?
A tour of Victoria in Spain as a last minute replacement.
What do you do to relax in your spare time?
Pilates, planning holidays and playing with my three children (and internet shopping – but don’t tell my husband!).
If you could perform in any venue, what / where would it be?
Durham Cathedral. Every time. Best building in the world.
Is there a piece you have fallen in love with since performing it with The Sixteen?
James Macmillan’s Miserere. It’s heartfelt, passionate and moves me deeply.
Do you have a party trick and if so, what is it?!
I’m pretty good at singing Whitney Houston with Carolyn Sampson in Spanish bars.
What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t a musician?
If I wasn’t a singer, i’d probably be a writer or a homeopath.
What would your ultimate desert island disc be?
It would be a toss up between Bach’s St Matthew Passion and Sigur Ros.
What would you eat for your last supper?
Lamb, red wine and pick ‘n’ mix.
And the obligatory question…What football team do you support?!
No football team I’m afraid, but I’m an avid tennis fan, especially if Nadal is playing.
